Start in Curaçao
January is an excellent time to begin a multi-country Caribbean holiday in Curaçao. The island enjoys warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine and a refreshing breeze, while the main winter crowds elsewhere in the Caribbean can feel less noticeable. It is a relaxed introduction to a trip that combines different islands, cultures and landscapes.
Base yourself near Willemstad and you can easily dip into Curaçao’s character. Wander between the bright buildings of Handelskade, stop for coffee beside the floating Queen Emma Bridge and enjoy dinner in the Pietermaai district. Beyond the capital, small coves such as Playa Kenepa offer clear water, soft sand and excellent snorkelling in a wonderfully easy-going setting.
