Beautiful Beaches

For a more peaceful setting, head to Grand Case Beach, Friar’s Bay or Anse Marcel, where the pace is noticeably calmer.

On the Dutch side, Maho Beach is famous for its location beside the airport runway. Watching aircraft pass overhead is an exciting holiday memory, although the waves and strong jet blast mean visitors should take care and follow local safety advice. In Marigot, browse the market for fresh produce, spices and warm pastries before stopping for lunch beside the marina.

Philipsburg brings a different atmosphere, with a long boardwalk, duty-free shops and restaurants overlooking Great Bay. In the evening, the waterfront comes alive with music and conversation, while smaller villages offer a quieter taste of island life.
