Why Visit Grenada in February?

February is an excellent month for Grenada adventure holidays. The weather is typically warm, bright and pleasantly dry, with daytime temperatures hovering around 28°C. It is a welcome escape from the British winter, yet the island feels relaxed rather than overrun.

Grenada offers far more than beautiful beaches. Known as the Spice Island, it combines forested hills, waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and lively coastal waters in a compact destination that is easy to explore. February is ideal for getting outdoors, whether you want an active day on the trail or a gentle taste of island life.

Rainforest Walks and Waterfalls

Head inland and Grenada quickly changes from coastal views to dense rainforest. Trails around Grand Etang National Park lead through rich greenery, where you may spot Mona monkeys, colourful birds and unusual tropical plants. The cooler mountain air makes walking comfortable, especially in the morning.

Waterfall hikes are a highlight of any Grenada adventure holiday. Concord Falls, Annandale Falls and the more remote Seven Sisters Falls each offer a different experience, from an easy visit close to the road to a proper guided trek through the forest. Bring sensible footwear and swimwear, as a refreshing dip is often part of the reward.

Sea Adventures and Snorkelling

February’s calm conditions are well suited to exploring Grenada from the water. Join a boat trip along the south coast, try kayaking in a sheltered bay or book a guided snorkelling excursion around the island’s reefs. Clear water and good visibility make it easy to appreciate the colourful marine life below.

For something different, visit the Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park. The submerged figures create an unusual artificial reef and can be seen by snorkellers, divers and glass-bottom boat passengers. Experienced divers can also explore reefs, walls and wrecks, including the famous Bianca C, with local operators providing equipment and guidance.

Exploring the Island

Grenada is made for combining adventure with unhurried sightseeing. Hire a car with local advice, arrange a private driver or join an organised tour to discover spice estates, rum distilleries, old plantation houses and fishing villages. The roads are winding in places, but every journey brings another viewpoint or inviting stop.

Make time for St George’s, one of the Caribbean’s most attractive harbour towns. Walk around the horseshoe-shaped waterfront, browse the market and climb to Fort George for broad views across the rooftops and sea. After a day outdoors, settle into a small restaurant for fresh fish, Creole flavours and a glass of local rum punch.

Planning Your February Trip

Pack light clothing, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection and a light waterproof layer for rainforest showers. February is a popular time to visit, so book accommodation and adventure excursions early, particularly if you want a smaller hotel or a specialist diving trip.

Whether your idea of adventure is hiking to a waterfall, sailing along the coast or simply discovering a new beach each day, Grenada makes it easy to create a rewarding holiday. February brings the sunshine and comfortable conditions; the island’s welcoming character provides the reason to return.
