Rainforest Adventures
January is an excellent time to discover Grenada’s natural side. The island is warm, generally sunny and comfortably breezy, making it ideal for exploring beyond the beach. Start in the Grand Etang National Park, where winding roads climb into the cool, green highlands and the scenery changes from coastal palms to thick rainforest.
Well-marked trails lead through giant trees, fern-filled gullies and bright tropical plants. Keep your eyes open for Mona monkeys, colourful birds and small lizards moving through the undergrowth. A local guide can add much more to the walk, pointing out medicinal plants, explaining Grenada’s volcanic landscape and showing you quieter viewpoints that are easy to miss.
