Why Dive in January
January is an excellent month for scuba diving in Saint Lucia. The island enjoys warm, generally settled weather, while the sea is comfortable for long dives and underwater visibility is often impressive. After the busy festive period, the atmosphere feels relaxed, yet there is still plenty happening on land and beneath the waves.
Water temperatures usually hover around a pleasant 27°C, so most divers are happy in a lightweight wetsuit. January is also part of the island’s drier season, although brief tropical showers can still pass through. Once you are below the surface, the real attraction is the clear Caribbean water, dramatic volcanic scenery and abundant marine life.
