A classic-car tour is a memorable way to see more of the capital, taking in the seafront Malecón, elegant Vedado and the wide avenues around Revolution Square. For a traditional beach holiday, Varadero is one of Cuba’s most popular choices. Its long sweep of soft white sand and calm, clear sea is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and simply finding a comfortable spot beneath a palm tree. Cuba suits many types of traveller, whether you want a relaxing beach break, a cultural city escape or a holiday combining both. The dry season, generally from November to April, is popular for warm days and lower rainfall, although Cuba remains appealing throughout much of the year.
