The waters around Anses-d’Arlet are a popular choice for relaxed diving and snorkelling. The small coves provide attractive shallow sites, while nearby reefs offer more depth and interesting formations for qualified divers. Diamond Rock, offshore from the south-west coast, is another highlight, with dramatic underwater terrain and the chance to see larger marine life when conditions are suitable.

On the northern coast, the area around Saint-Pierre offers a different experience. This historic town lies beneath Mount Pelée, and its waters include wrecks linked to the 1902 volcanic eruption. The wrecks are a fascinating reminder of Martinique’s past, although some sites are better suited to experienced divers because of depth, currents and local conditions.
