Why Visit in January?
January is an excellent month for a backpacking holiday in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The weather is generally warm, bright and pleasantly dry, making it much easier to explore on foot, by local bus or on two wheels. After the wetter months, the islands feel fresh and lively, while the sea remains inviting for a quick swim whenever you find a quiet beach.
This is also a popular time to visit the Caribbean, so it is wise to arrange flights and accommodation early. Even so, independent travellers can find good-value guesthouses, simple rooms and sociable hostels by staying flexible with dates and looking beyond the main resort areas. January brings a friendly buzz without taking away the relaxed island pace.
