Why Visit in January
January is an excellent time for a birdwatching holiday in Trinidad and Tobago. The weather is generally warm, bright and comfortably less humid than later in the year, while the islands’ forests, wetlands and gardens are full of bird activity. It is a rewarding month for both keen birders and travellers who simply enjoy seeing wildlife in beautiful surroundings.
Trinidad is especially well known for its remarkable variety of species. Tobago offers a more relaxed island experience, with forest trails, coastal views and plenty of opportunities to watch birds close to where you are staying. Together, the two islands make it possible to combine serious birdwatching with beaches, local food and easy-going Caribbean days.
