Why Visit in September?
A September holiday to Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba offers a brilliant way to experience the Dutch Caribbean at a relaxed pace. These three special municipalities, often called the BES islands, each have a distinct character, yet they work wonderfully as a multi-country-style island escape. Expect warm weather, friendly communities and plenty of time to enjoy the sea.
September is part of the quieter season, so beaches, walking trails and waterfront restaurants are often less busy than during the winter months. The climate remains hot, with daytime temperatures generally around 30°C, while the sea is invitingly warm for swimming and snorkelling. It is worth checking the forecast before travelling, as September falls within the wider Atlantic hurricane season, although the islands sit outside the main hurricane belt more often than many Caribbean destinations.
