Why Choose January
January is an excellent month for a walking holiday in the Dominican Republic. While much of the United Kingdom is cold and grey, the island enjoys warm days, lower humidity and plenty of sunshine. It is a comfortable time to explore on foot, whether you are looking for a gentle coastal stroll or a more energetic route through the hills.
Daytime temperatures are usually pleasant for walking, particularly in the morning and late afternoon. The drier conditions also make paths easier to manage, although a short tropical shower is always possible. Pack light clothing, a sun hat, comfortable walking shoes and a light waterproof layer so you are ready for changing weather.
