Birdwatching in February
February is an excellent time to enjoy a birdwatching holiday in Montserrat. The island is warm, green and wonderfully peaceful, with comfortable days for exploring woodland trails, gardens and open countryside. After the excitement of the winter festive season, the pace settles down, making it easier to concentrate on the calls and movement of birds around you.
Montserrat is small enough to explore without long journeys, yet its volcanic landscape creates a surprising variety of habitats. You can move from coastal scrub to lush rainforest and higher mountain slopes in a single outing. Bring binoculars, a notebook and sensible walking shoes, then allow plenty of time to pause and listen.
