Wildlife in February
February is an excellent month for a nature holiday in Trinidad and Tobago. The weather is generally warm, bright and pleasantly dry, making it comfortable to explore forests, wetlands and the coastline. With daytime temperatures often around 29°C, you can enjoy outdoor adventures without the heavy rainfall that arrives later in the year.
Trinidad is particularly rewarding for wildlife lovers. Head to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary in the late afternoon and take a boat through the mangrove channels as birds return to roost. The striking scarlet ibis is the star of the show, but you may also spot herons, egrets, cormorants and even caimans resting beside the water.
