Cheap March Holidays

Caribbean Holidays, Cheap March Holidays, Bright beach scene in Trinidad and Tobago in March, with calm turquoise water, palm trees and a relaxed traveller enjoying the sunshine

Why Visit in March

March is a brilliant time to look for cheap holidays to Trinidad and Tobago. The islands are warm, lively and generally dry, making it easy to enjoy both the beaches and the many local events without constantly checking the forecast. Daytime temperatures are usually around 29°C, with plenty of sunshine for swimming, sightseeing and outdoor adventures.

It is also a month when the islands feel especially energetic. Carnival may fall in February or March depending on the year, so it is worth checking the dates before booking. Even outside Carnival itself, you can expect music, colourful culture and a friendly atmosphere in towns and villages across Trinidad and Tobago.

Finding Affordable Stays

To keep your Trinidad and Tobago holiday cheap, compare different types of accommodation rather than looking only at large resorts. Simple hotels, guesthouses and self-catering apartments can offer excellent value, particularly if you are happy to stay a short distance from the busiest beachfront areas.

Booking flights and accommodation together can sometimes reduce the overall price, while travelling outside major festival dates may give you more choice. Look for rooms with breakfast included, kitchen facilities or easy access to local restaurants. These small details can make a noticeable difference to your spending over a week.

Things to Do

Trinidad is the island for culture, food and nature. Spend time in Port of Spain, where you can visit the Queen’s Park Savannah, browse local markets and try dishes such as doubles, roti and bake and shark. A trip to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary is another memorable choice, especially for seeing scarlet ibis returning to the mangroves at sunset.

Tobago offers a slower pace and some superb beaches. Pigeon Point is ideal for an easy day beside clear water, while Store Bay and Englishman’s Bay are great for swimming and relaxing. If you enjoy walking, snorkelling or wildlife, explore the island’s forested interior and coastline with a local guide.

Planning a Budget Trip

Local buses and shared taxis can be useful for keeping transport costs down, although hiring a car gives you more freedom in Tobago. Ask your accommodation about current fares and recommended drivers, and allow extra time when travelling between popular sights. The islands are best enjoyed without rushing.

Bring sun protection, comfortable footwear and a light waterproof layer for short tropical showers. With sensible planning, March is an excellent month for an affordable Caribbean escape: warm beaches, memorable food and plenty of authentic experiences without needing a luxury budget.
