Famous Wrecks

Grenada’s best-known wreck is the Bianca C, a 600-foot cruise liner that sank in 1961. Resting in deeper water, the wreck is an impressive site for qualified divers, with its size and history making every descent memorable. Stronger currents can occur, so it is normally recommended for confident divers with suitable experience.

Closer to shore, you can find other wrecks offering a different kind of adventure. The Shakem, Veronica L and King Mitch are popular with visiting divers, while smaller boats and artificial reefs provide plenty of opportunities to see marine life around the island’s sheltered coastline.

Reefs And Marine Life

Grenada’s reefs are home to an appealing mix of tropical species. Look out for angelfish, parrotfish, moray eels, barracuda and lobsters moving among sponges and coral. Depending on the season and location, divers may also encounter rays, nurse sharks and graceful sea turtles.

Molinière Underwater Sculpture Park is one of the island’s most unusual attractions. A collection of sculptures rests on the seabed, where coral and marine growth have gradually become part of the artwork. It is suitable for divers and, at some locations, snorkellers too, making it a good choice for mixed groups.
