Start with Carlisle Bay
January is an excellent time to explore Barbados, with warm sunshine, comfortable temperatures and plenty of clear skies for photography. Begin at Carlisle Bay, where the soft white sand curves around calm, bright-blue water just outside Bridgetown. It is an easy place to capture the relaxed side of the island.
Arrive early for gentler light and a quieter shoreline. A paddleboarder crossing the bay, fishing boats in the distance and palms moving in the breeze all add natural detail without needing much staging. Stay for a swim afterwards, as the sheltered water is especially inviting in the morning.
