A Different Caribbean
July is a rewarding time for a solo holiday in the BES islands: Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. These three Dutch Caribbean islands offer something quieter and more personal than the larger resort destinations. You can spend the morning in the sea, enjoy a relaxed lunch with local flavours, and still have time to watch the sun set without rushing from one attraction to the next.
Each island has its own character. Bonaire is known for excellent shore diving, calm bays and easy-going Kralendijk. Sint Eustatius, often called Statia, combines historic charm with green volcanic slopes. Saba is the smallest and most adventurous, with dramatic scenery and excellent walking trails. Travelling alone makes it easy to choose your own pace and change your plans as the mood takes you.
