A Warm December Escape

Visit Fort Oranje for sea views, then explore the remains of the old settlement along the coast. A guided walk can add context and introduce you to the island’s stories, while nature trails lead towards The Quill, a dramatic dormant volcano covered in green forest.
Saba’s Mountain Trails
Saba is the most mountainous of the three islands and a wonderful choice for walkers. Its famous steps, winding lanes and forest paths create a genuine sense of discovery, with views that open out across the Caribbean as you climb.
Hiking is best approached with sensible footwear, water and local advice, particularly after rain. You can also arrange a guided nature walk or a diving trip, then return to a small restaurant or guesthouse where conversation comes easily.
Festive Island Evenings
Christmas and New Year bring extra energy to the islands, although the atmosphere remains more relaxed than in many larger Caribbean resorts. Look out for local music, community events and seasonal menus, and ask your accommodation about celebrations taking place during your visit.
