Bonaire’s Colourful Coast
Bonaire is a dream destination for photographs, especially in July when the Caribbean light is bright and the sea is an inviting shade of blue. Start at Kralendijk’s waterfront, where pastel buildings, breezy palms and small fishing boats create an easy-going backdrop for Instagram. A morning visit gives you softer light and a quieter feel before the town becomes livelier.
For a classic Bonaire image, head towards the southern coast and look out for the colourful slave huts near the salt pans. The contrast between the tiny painted buildings, white salt mounds and vivid turquoise water is instantly recognisable. Flamingos are another highlight, although they are wild animals, so keep a respectful distance and use a zoom lens rather than approaching them.
