Grenada Beach Holidays

February sunshine in Grenada

February is an excellent time for a Grenada beach holiday. The island is usually warm, bright and comfortably dry, with daytime temperatures around 28°C and plenty of sunshine for enjoying the coast. It is a welcome escape from the colder, darker days of a British winter.

Grenada’s beaches are wonderfully varied, but Grand Anse is the natural starting point. Its long curve of pale sand is backed by calm Caribbean water, friendly beach bars and places to hire kayaks or paddleboards. There is enough space to find a quiet spot, yet St George’s is close by when you fancy lunch, shopping or a stroll.

Beaches and swimming

February’s generally settled weather makes it easy to plan days beside the sea. The water is warm enough for long swims, and many sheltered bays have gentle conditions that suit families and less confident swimmers. An early morning dip is especially peaceful, before the beaches become livelier.

For a change of scene, head to Morne Rouge Beach, often called BBC Beach, where the sheltered bay has soft sand and a relaxed atmosphere. Magazine Beach, near the airport, is another attractive option, while La Sagesse offers a more secluded setting surrounded by green hills. Snorkelling trips can take you to reefs and coves where colourful fish move through the clear water.

Island life in February

Grenada offers more than sunbathing, and February is a good month to explore beyond the sand. Spend time in the hillside capital, St George’s, where colourful buildings, old forts and a lively market create a genuine Caribbean atmosphere. The views across the harbour are particularly impressive from Fort George.

February may also bring Carnival events and local celebrations, depending on the year’s programme. Music, food and community gatherings offer a memorable glimpse of Grenadian culture. Away from the coast, you can visit a spice estate, walk through rainforest or take a boat trip to see the underwater sculpture park.

Relaxed evenings by the sea

After a day in the water, Grenada’s evenings are wonderfully easy-going. Choose fresh fish, grilled lobster, fragrant rice or a traditional oil down stew at a local restaurant, then settle into a beach bar with a rum punch. The pace is unhurried, so there is no need to rush through dinner.

Whether you prefer a lively resort close to Grand Anse or a peaceful hideaway on the south coast, February is a dependable choice for a Caribbean beach break. With warm weather, beautiful swimming beaches and plenty to discover, Grenada makes it simple to combine proper relaxation with a little adventure.
