Coastal Walks on Bonaire
Bonaire is an excellent choice for a walking holiday if you enjoy easy-going trails, open landscapes and plenty of time outdoors. The island’s dry climate, bright blue sea and relaxed atmosphere make exploring on foot feel wonderfully simple. Routes range from short coastal strolls to longer walks through rugged scenery.
Along the shoreline, keep an eye out for flamingos, sea birds and the occasional lizard warming itself in the sun. Near the southern tip, the landscape becomes especially distinctive, with salt pans, white pyramids of salt and old slave huts providing striking landmarks. Comfortable footwear, sun protection and plenty of water are essential, as shade can be limited.
