Start at Grand Anse

Grand Anse Beach is one of the easiest places in Grenada to capture a brilliant holiday photograph. The long curve of pale sand, clear turquoise water and gently leaning palms gives you plenty of space to find your own angle, whether you are using a phone or a proper camera.

January is particularly good for early-morning images, when the beach is quieter and the light is warm without being harsh. Walk towards the southern end for a wider view across the bay, or photograph the shoreline as small waves roll in. Later in the day, the beach is ideal for relaxed swimming and sunset shots.

Grenada’s Underwater Sculpture Park is one of the island’s most distinctive Instagram hotspots. Beneath the surface near Molinière Bay, you will find a collection of sculptures surrounded by fish, coral and shifting shafts of sunlight. The images feel unusual and memorable because they combine art with the natural underwater landscape.

Book a snorkelling or diving trip with a local operator and ask about the best time for visibility. January often brings pleasant conditions, but the sea can still change, so follow your guide’s advice. An underwater phone case can produce good results, although simply enjoying the sculptures in person is just as rewarding.

Grenada’s capital is packed with photogenic details, from the horseshoe-shaped Carenage to pastel buildings climbing the hillside. Start near the waterfront to capture fishing boats, yachts and reflections on the water. The scene becomes especially lively when local boats are coming and going.

For a change from beach photographs, head inland to Annandale Falls. Water drops into a natural pool surrounded by dense greenery, making it easy to create photographs that show Grenada’s rainforest character. The short walk keeps the visit simple, and the setting feels refreshingly cool after time by the coast.

Arrive earlier in the day if you want a calmer background and softer light beneath the trees. The rocks can be slippery, so wear sturdy footwear and keep your camera secure. Combine the visit with a wider island drive to find roadside viewpoints, spice gardens and villages framed by dramatic hills.

Chase January Sunsets

January is a lovely month for sunset photography in Grenada, with comfortable evenings and skies that can change colour quickly. Morne Rouge Beach, also known as BBC Beach, is a good choice for a quieter scene, while Grand Anse gives you a broad horizon and plenty of room for silhouettes.

Arrive around 30 minutes before sunset so you can choose a position and capture the changing light. Keep the composition simple: a palm, a boat or footprints in the sand can add interest without distracting from the sky. With a little planning, your Grenada holiday feed will show much more than beautiful beaches; it will tell the story of an island full of colour, nature and character.
