Grenada Scuba Diving

Why Dive Grenada in November?

November is an excellent time for a Grenada scuba diving holiday. The main rainy season is easing, the island is warm and welcoming, and the sea is often calm enough for comfortable boat trips to the reefs and wrecks. With fewer visitors than in the busiest winter months, dive sites can feel pleasantly relaxed.

Water temperatures usually hover around 28°C, so most divers are happy in a lightweight wetsuit. Visibility varies by location and recent weather, but clear conditions are common, giving you plenty of time to appreciate Grenada’s dramatic underwater scenery. Above the surface, expect warm days, green hills and the easy-going atmosphere that makes the island so enjoyable.

Wreck Diving Highlights

Grenada is famous for wreck diving, and November is a great month to explore its best-known sites. The Bianca C, often called the ‘Titanic of the Caribbean’, rests offshore in deep water and is suitable for experienced divers with the right training. Its enormous outline, open spaces and resident marine life make it an unforgettable dive.

Closer to shore, other wrecks offer a range of experiences for different abilities. The Shakem, Veronica L and King Mitch attract shoals of fish and are often surrounded by sponges and corals. Local dive centres can advise on conditions, depth and certification requirements, helping you choose sites that match your experience.

Reefs and Marine Life

Grenada’s reefs are full of colour and movement. You may spot angelfish, parrotfish, moray eels and barracuda among coral heads, while turtles sometimes glide past with surprising calm. Small creatures such as seahorses, crabs and nudibranchs reward divers who take their time and look closely.

Sites around Grand Anse, Flamingo Bay and the south-west coast are popular for their sheltered conditions and varied underwater landscapes. November can also bring a quieter pace, making it easier to enjoy a relaxed dive without feeling hurried. Whether you are a newly qualified diver or an experienced underwater photographer, there is plenty to discover.

Planning Your Dive Holiday

Choose a reputable, fully equipped dive operator and book a few dives before travelling, particularly if you want to visit famous wrecks. Operators usually provide equipment hire, transfers and boat trips, while shore dives can be arranged for a more flexible day. Remember to allow suitable time between your final dive and flying home.

Between dives, make time for Grenada’s beaches, spice plantations and lively local food scene. Grand Anse is a convenient base, with a broad sandy beach, restaurants and easy access to dive centres. Add warm November sunshine, friendly people and striking underwater sites, and Grenada becomes a superb choice for a Caribbean scuba diving holiday.
