Why Visit Haiti in February?
February is an excellent month for a Haiti birdwatching holiday. The weather is generally warm and pleasantly dry, making it comfortable to explore forests, wetlands and coastal habitats without the heavier rains that arrive later in the year. Clearer skies also make early starts much easier, which is useful when the birds are most active.
Haiti offers a rewarding mix of landscapes in a relatively compact area. You can move from dry hills and coastal lagoons to pine-covered mountains, discovering a different selection of species as the scenery changes. For keen birdwatchers, the combination of Caribbean endemics, migrant birds and varied habitats makes February a particularly interesting time to visit.
