January Sunshine
January is an excellent time to enjoy a Martinique beach holiday. While much of the United Kingdom is wrapped up against winter weather, this French Caribbean island is warm, bright and inviting, with daytime temperatures usually around 28°C. The sea is wonderfully comfortable for swimming, so you can spend your days moving between the beach, the water and a shady beach café.
Martinique’s dry season is well under way in January, bringing plenty of sunshine and generally lower rainfall than the summer months. A light breeze can make the heat feel pleasantly comfortable, particularly on the coast. Pack cool clothing, sun cream and a light layer for air-conditioned restaurants or the occasional evening shower.
