Start with the Pitons
For a Saint Lucia Instagram holiday in January, the Pitons are the obvious first stop. These two dramatic volcanic peaks rise from the Caribbean near Soufrière and create the island’s most recognisable view. The warm, dry January weather often brings clear skies, making it an excellent time to capture the mountains against bright blue water.
Head to a viewpoint along the west coast for a wide landscape photograph, or take a boat trip for a different angle from the sea. Early morning is especially rewarding, when the light is gentle and the water is usually calmer. Leave plenty of space in your itinerary, because this is the sort of view that deserves more than a quick photograph.
