Start with Eagle Beach

April is an excellent time to explore Aruba with your camera. The island is warm, bright and usually breezy, while the dependable sunshine makes it easy to plan days around the best Instagram hotspots. Start at Eagle Beach, one of Aruba’s most recognisable stretches of sand, where the wide shoreline gives you plenty of space for a relaxed photograph.

Arrive early for soft light and a quieter atmosphere. The famous fofoti trees lean towards the sea, creating a naturally striking foreground, especially when their twisted branches are framed against a clear blue sky. Bring a towel and stay for a swim afterwards; the beach is every bit as enjoyable away from the camera.

Palm Beach at Sunset

Palm Beach is one of the easiest places to combine sightseeing, dining and photography. During the day, the water is inviting and the long beach is ideal for a stroll, but the scene changes as the sun begins to drop. Palm trees, paddleboarders and small boats give the shoreline plenty of movement.

For the best Instagram content, walk towards the quieter ends of the beach and look for reflections on the wet sand. Golden hour adds warmth to the resorts and coastline without making the image look over-processed. After sunset, stay for dinner or a drink nearby, as Palm Beach has some of the island’s most convenient evening options.

Discover the Natural Pool

Arikok National Park provides a completely different backdrop from Aruba’s famous beaches. The Natural Pool, known locally as Conchi, is surrounded by rugged volcanic rock and protected from the Atlantic swell. Its contrast of dark stone, foaming waves and clear water makes it one of the island’s most memorable photo locations.

Access can be rough, so a guided 4×4 excursion is often the most comfortable choice. Wear sturdy shoes, take water and follow local advice about sea conditions. April’s dry weather is useful here, but waves can still be powerful, so enjoy the view safely rather than getting too close to the edge.

Murals in San Nicolas

San Nicolas is Aruba’s creative centre and a rewarding stop for anyone looking beyond the main resort areas. Its streets are filled with large-scale murals created by artists from Aruba and around the world. Every few steps reveal another bold wall, characterful detail or colourful corner to photograph.

Visit in the morning or late afternoon, when the light is gentler and the streets feel more relaxed. Take time to read the stories behind the artwork and support local cafés or shops while you explore. The result is a collection of photographs that shows Aruba’s culture as well as its scenery.

California Lighthouse Views

Finish your April photo trail at the California Lighthouse on Aruba’s north-western tip. The lighthouse stands above a dramatic stretch of coast, offering broad views across the island and out towards the Caribbean Sea. It is particularly impressive close to sunset, when the surrounding landscape takes on a soft golden colour.

Keep the composition simple by including the lighthouse, horizon and a little of the rough coastal ground. The viewpoint is also a good reminder that Aruba is more than beautiful beaches: it has open landscapes, strong local character and memorable places to explore at your own pace.
