Why Dive Dominica in January
January is an excellent month for scuba diving in Dominica. The island’s dry season is getting underway, bringing generally settled weather, warm seas and comfortable conditions for exploring the reefs. Above the surface, the air often feels pleasantly warm without the intense humidity of the wetter months, while underwater visibility can be very good.
Dominica is known as the Nature Island, and its character continues beneath the waves. Volcanic activity has shaped dramatic drop-offs, pinnacles and underwater slopes, creating habitats for colourful sponges, hard corals and a huge variety of marine life. This is a destination where every dive feels slightly different, whether you are a confident diver or still building experience.
