Guadeloupe Instagram Spots

Begin with a beach sunrise

February is one of the best times to explore Guadeloupe for memorable holiday photographs. The weather is generally warm and pleasantly dry, with bright mornings that make the islands’ beaches look especially inviting. Start early at Grande Anse near Deshaies, where golden sand curves around a wide bay backed by green hills.

Arriving before breakfast gives you softer light, fewer visitors and a peaceful view of the Caribbean Sea. Walk towards the rocks at either end of the beach for a wider angle, then stay for a swim once the sun is higher. A simple photograph of footprints, palms and clear water can capture the relaxed character of a February escape.

Find rainforest scenery

Guadeloupe’s Instagram hotspots are not limited to the coast. In Basse-Terre, the rainforest provides a striking change of scenery, with enormous leaves, mossy rocks and streams running down from the mountains. The Carbet Falls are among the island’s best-known natural attractions and offer dramatic views after a short walk.

Wear proper walking shoes and take care on wet paths, particularly after rain. A wide shot can show the scale of the waterfall and surrounding forest, while closer details such as fern leaves and flowing water add variety to your photos. February is a comfortable month for exploring, but carry water and allow plenty of time for the humid conditions.

Capture local colour

For lively street scenes, head to Pointe-a-Pitre and explore the markets around the city centre. Vendors display pyramids of mangoes, pineapples, spices and colourful fabrics, creating natural photographs full of texture. Ask before photographing people, and take a moment to enjoy the aromas and friendly atmosphere rather than viewing the market only through your phone.

The city’s painted buildings and traditional details make an excellent backdrop for travel portraits. Look for old shutters, balconies and patterned walls, especially in the softer light of late afternoon. This is also a good place to pick up local snacks and small souvenirs that will remind you of your Guadeloupe holiday.

Explore the island coastline

A boat trip around the Guadeloupe archipelago can provide some of the most attractive February photographs. The Saintes, Marie-Galante and Petite-Terre each have their own look, from quiet beaches and fishing boats to rocky coves and bright shallow water. Keep your camera ready as the view changes quickly between islands.

For the best results, protect equipment from sea spray and use a waterproof case for swimming stops. Golden-hour light is ideal for photographing a harbour or coastline, while midday brings out the vivid colours beneath the water. Most importantly, leave space in your itinerary to enjoy the scenery without rushing from one hotspot to the next.

Finish with sunset light

End the day on a west-facing beach, where the setting sun creates warm colours across the sea. Anse du Souffleur and other quieter stretches of Grande-Terre can be particularly rewarding when the sky begins to change. Arrive a little early to find a good viewpoint and watch the beach become quieter.

Use the natural shapes of palms, rocks or a pier to frame the image, and avoid over-editing the colours. Guadeloupe in February offers plenty of opportunities for beautiful photographs, but the strongest memories often come from the moments between them: a swim, a shared meal or a slow walk beside the water.
