November Beaches

Why Visit in November?

November is an excellent month for a beach holiday in Saint Martin and Sint Maarten. The islands are warm, bright and wonderfully relaxed, with daytime temperatures usually sitting around 28°C. You can spend the morning swimming in clear water, enjoy a leisurely lunch by the shore and still have plenty of time for an evening stroll.

This month also brings a welcome change of pace after the busiest summer period. Beaches can feel more peaceful, while restaurants, beach bars and attractions are open and ready to welcome visitors. If you want Caribbean sunshine without the height-of-season crowds, November is a particularly appealing time to travel.

Beautiful Beaches to Explore

Saint Martin and Sint Maarten share one small island, but each side has its own character. On the French side, Orient Bay is a favourite for its broad sweep of white sand, lively watersports and choice of casual restaurants. Grand Case is another excellent option, especially if you enjoy combining time on the beach with memorable local food.

On the Dutch side, Maho Beach is famous for its close-up views of aircraft arriving at the nearby airport. For a quieter swim, try Mullet Bay, where the curved beach and clear water make it easy to settle into a peaceful few hours. Little Bay and Dawn Beach are also worth considering for their attractive scenery and good opportunities for snorkelling.

Sea, Sand and Island Days

November is ideal for enjoying the water. Sea temperatures remain pleasantly warm, and the generally calm conditions are suited to swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking and boat trips. A guided snorkelling excursion can take you to sheltered coves where you may see bright fish moving above the reef.

It is also easy to make each day different. Hire a car or taxi for a scenic drive between beaches, visit a local market, or take a short boat trip to nearby islands such as Anguilla or Pinel Island. After a day outdoors, settle down with a cool drink and watch the sun slip towards the horizon.

Food, Culture and Evenings

One of the pleasures of a Saint Martin beach holiday is the choice of food. The French side is known for elegant restaurants and excellent bakeries, while the Dutch side offers everything from waterfront dining to lively cafés and international menus. Try fresh seafood, Caribbean specialities and a relaxed lunch served with a view of the sea.

Evenings in November are made for being outside. You might listen to live music at a beach bar, browse the shops in Marigot or Philipsburg, or enjoy a long dinner in Grand Case. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, making it easy to combine a relaxing beach break with plenty of island experiences.

Planning Your November Holiday

Pack light clothing, swimwear, sun protection and something smart-casual for evenings. A light shower is always possible in the tropics, so a compact waterproof jacket is useful, but November usually offers plenty of opportunities for beach time.

Whether you prefer a lively resort, a stylish hotel or a quieter villa, Saint Martin and Sint Maarten offer a superb choice of places to stay. With warm seas, excellent beaches and two distinct island cultures to discover, November is a great time to enjoy a Caribbean holiday that feels both easy-going and full of variety.
