Horseshoe Bay Beach

Horseshoe Bay is one of the first places to visit if you want memorable Bermuda holiday photographs. Its curved sweep of pale pink sand, clear turquoise sea and rocky headlands create an instantly recognisable island scene. Arrive early for softer light and a quieter shoreline, or stay into the afternoon when the water takes on deeper blue tones.

Walk towards the smaller coves at either end of the beach for different angles, but take care on the rocks and keep clear of the waterline when the surf is strong. Look for views across the harbour from the bridge, particularly in the morning when the water is often calm. Unfinished Church

Near St George’s, the Unfinished Church offers a striking combination of old stone walls, open sky and lush greenery. Construction began in the nineteenth century but was never completed, leaving dramatic arches and roofless sections that make this one of Bermuda’s most unusual photography locations.

The site is best photographed with a wide lens or from a low viewpoint, which helps show the scale of the arches against the sky. Be respectful of the historic setting, follow any access guidance and avoid climbing on the remaining stonework.

Hamilton Harbour

Hamilton’s Front Street is ideal for capturing the lively side of Bermuda. Bright shopfronts, historic buildings, ferries and harbour views provide plenty of variety within a short walk. It is a particularly good choice if you want photographs that show everyday island life rather than just beaches.

Try visiting around sunset, when the waterfront buildings catch the warm light and the harbour begins to glow. A ferry ride can also give you a fresh perspective of the city skyline, with colourful rooftops and the surrounding ocean stretching behind them.
