November beach weather

November is a wonderful time for a beach holiday in the BES islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. The islands are warm, bright and relaxed, with daytime temperatures usually sitting around 29°C. Sea temperatures are also inviting, making it easy to slip into the water whenever the mood takes you.

There can be short tropical showers, particularly earlier in the month, but they often pass quickly and leave the air feeling fresh. You will still have plenty of sunshine for swimming, sailing and exploring. Pack light clothes, swimwear, high-factor sun cream and a light waterproof jacket for passing showers.

Bonaire underwater life

Bonaire is a superb choice if you want your beach time to include some of the Caribbean’s best snorkelling and diving. The island is surrounded by protected waters, and many reefs can be reached directly from the shore. Calm bays, clear visibility and abundant marine life make even a simple swim feel like an adventure.

Look out for parrotfish, angelfish, turtles and brightly coloured coral as you explore. Klein Bonaire, a small uninhabited island just offshore, is especially appealing for a boat trip and a relaxed day on a white-sand beach. November’s warm water means you can spend long periods in the sea without feeling hurried.

Sint Eustatius escapes

Sint Eustatius, often known as Statia, has a wonderfully unspoilt feel. Its beaches are generally quieter and more natural than the busier shores found elsewhere in the Caribbean, while the volcanic landscape gives the island a distinctive character. Zeelandia Beach is a memorable place for a stroll, with dark sand, rolling water and broad views.

The island is also ideal for travellers who like to combine the beach with history and walking. Explore Oranjestad’s old streets, visit Fort Oranje and take a guided hike on The Quill, a green volcanic crater. After a day outdoors, you can settle beside the sea and enjoy the peaceful pace of island life.

Saba by the sea

Saba is the smallest and most rugged of the three islands, so it is not a traditional beach destination. Its coastline is dramatic, with steep slopes, rocky coves and deep blue water. The island’s real appeal is its spectacular scenery and world-class diving, rather than long stretches of sand.

November is a good month to discover Saba’s trails, viewpoints and underwater volcanic landscape. Take time to wander through the charming village of Windwardside, then arrange a dive or boat excursion to see coral walls and marine life below the surface. It is a rewarding addition to a wider BES islands holiday.
