Why Visit in April
April is an excellent month for a birdwatching holiday in the Cayman Islands. The weather is generally warm, bright and comfortable, with plenty of sunshine for exploring and a refreshing breeze along the coast. It is also a lively time in the natural world, as resident birds are active and visiting species may still be passing through.
The islands offer a rewarding mix of habitats in a compact area. In one day, you can move from dry woodland and coastal scrub to mangroves, ponds and quiet beaches, each attracting different birds. Early mornings are especially enjoyable, when the air is cooler and bird calls carry through the trees.
