January in Dominica
January is an excellent time to enjoy a Dominica birdwatching holiday. The island is warm, green and wonderfully peaceful, while the drier winter weather often makes it easier to explore forest trails and viewpoints. Days are usually comfortable for walking, with plenty of bright mornings for getting outdoors.
Dominica is known as the Nature Island of the Caribbean, and its landscapes create an impressive variety of habitats. Rainforest, mountain valleys, coastal woodland and open farmland all sit within a relatively small area. That means a morning’s birdwatching can bring completely different sights and sounds from an afternoon by the coast.
