May Nature Trails
May is a rewarding time to discover Saint Barthelemy beyond its famous beaches. The island is warm, green and easy to explore, with quieter paths leading through dry woodland, rocky hills and coastal viewpoints. A gentle breeze often takes the edge off the sunshine, making walks more comfortable than you might expect in the Caribbean.
Set out early for the best conditions and you can enjoy the island at its most peaceful. Look for agave, cactus and low scrub adapted to the dry climate, while seabirds circle above the cliffs. Trails around Colombier and the hills near Lurin offer a good mix of scenery, with plenty of chances to pause for photographs and take in the deep blue water.
