Diving Conditions
May is an excellent month for a scuba diving holiday in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The islands sit in warm Caribbean waters, with comfortable sea temperatures and generally good visibility for exploring reefs, walls and fascinating underwater rock formations. The weather is usually sunny and pleasantly warm, while the early summer atmosphere is quieter than the busiest winter months.
Water temperatures in May are typically around 27°C, so most divers are happy in a light wetsuit or shorty. Visibility can vary with local conditions, but many sites offer impressive underwater views, often reaching 20 metres or more. Calm mornings are particularly appealing for boat trips, giving you a smooth ride and a relaxed start to the day.
