Why Visit in November?
November is an excellent month for a birdwatching holiday in the United States Virgin Islands. The islands are warm, green and pleasantly relaxed after the busiest summer period, while the milder conditions make it comfortable to spend long hours outdoors. Early mornings are especially rewarding, with birds becoming active before the heat builds.
This time of year also sits within the wider Caribbean migration season. Resident species are joined by visiting birds travelling south, so a walk through woodland, wetland or coastal scrub can bring a pleasing variety of sightings. Pack binoculars, a hat and light clothing, and allow plenty of time to stop and listen.
