Why Fish in January
January is an excellent month for a fishing holiday in the United States Virgin Islands. The weather is typically warm and pleasantly dry, with bright days, comfortable sea temperatures and less oppressive humidity than later in the year. It is easy to see why anglers return at this time, whether they are chasing a memorable catch offshore or simply want a relaxed day on the water.
The islands offer a mixture of fishing experiences within a surprisingly small area. From St Thomas and St John, boats can head towards productive deep water, while the sheltered bays and reefs around the islands suit lighter tackle and shorter trips. January also falls during the popular winter travel season, so booking a charter in advance is sensible, especially if you have particular dates in mind.
