Walking in Bonaire
Bonaire is an excellent choice for a walking holiday in August if you enjoy open landscapes, sea views and a relaxed pace. The island is best known for diving, but its trails reveal a quieter side, from rugged coastlines and salt pans to cactus-studded hills and peaceful inland roads.
August is warm, so sensible planning makes all the difference. Set out early, carry plenty of water and wear a hat, sturdy shoes and sun protection. The reward is a wonderfully clear view across the Caribbean, with flamingos, iguanas and colourful birds often adding interest along the way.
