Aruba Scuba Diving

Caribbean Holidays, Aruba Scuba Diving, A scuba diver exploring a clear Caribbean reef near Aruba in bright June sunshine, with colourful coral and tropical fish

Why Dive Aruba in June?

June is an excellent month for scuba diving in Aruba. The island sits outside the main hurricane belt, so you can usually look forward to warm weather, calm seas and plenty of sunshine. Water temperatures hover around 27°C, making a wetsuit optional for many divers and ideal conditions for relaxed, comfortable exploration.

Visibility is often impressive, commonly reaching 20 to 30 metres and sometimes more. That means you can enjoy the full character of Aruba’s reefs, from small coral gardens close to shore to deeper wreck sites where schools of fish gather. June also tends to feel pleasantly unhurried, with fewer visitors than during the busiest winter months.

Reefs Full of Life

Aruba’s underwater scenery is varied and rewarding for both new and experienced divers. Around the island, you may see angelfish, parrotfish, barracuda, moray eels and graceful rays moving through the reef. Look closely among the coral and you could spot seahorses, cleaner shrimp and tiny reef fish sheltering from larger predators.

Many dive sites are reached by a short boat trip, while others are suitable for shore diving. The calm, clear water makes it easier to practise buoyancy, take photographs and simply enjoy the view without feeling rushed. Local dive centres know the conditions well and can recommend sites that match your certification and experience.

Explore Aruba’s Wrecks

Aruba is particularly well known for its wreck diving. The SS Antilla, a Second World War freighter resting in relatively shallow water, is the island’s most famous site. Its impressive size, open sections and covering of coral make it an unforgettable dive, while clouds of tropical fish bring the structure to life.

The wreck is suitable for divers with appropriate experience, although conditions and access can vary. Other wrecks and artificial reef sites around Aruba offer different perspectives, including smaller structures that are easy to explore at a gentle pace. A qualified local guide can explain the history of each site and point out the best marine life.

Planning Your Dive Trip

Book your June diving holiday with a reputable, professionally staffed dive centre. Check what is included in each trip, as equipment hire, marine park fees, transfers and lunch may be charged separately. If you have not dived recently, a refresher session is a sensible way to regain confidence before visiting deeper sites or wrecks.

Pack reef-safe sun protection, a light cover-up and plenty of drinking water for time on the boat. Even when the breeze feels cooling, Aruba’s sun is strong. With warm seas, dependable weather and excellent underwater visibility, scuba diving in Aruba in June is an enjoyable choice for a Caribbean holiday that combines easy-going island time with memorable adventures below the surface.
