Aruba Diving March

Why Dive Aruba in March?

March is one of the best months for scuba diving in Aruba. The island enjoys warm, sunny weather, light rainfall and pleasantly warm sea temperatures, so you can spend more time in the water without worrying about unsettled conditions. Visibility is often excellent, making it easier to appreciate the reef life and dramatic underwater scenery.

Aruba sits outside the main hurricane belt, which adds confidence when planning a diving holiday. Above the surface, you can expect bright days, cooling trade winds and a relaxed atmosphere. Below it, the water is inviting enough for experienced divers, beginners and anyone keen to try a first introductory dive.

Wrecks and Reefs

Aruba is particularly well known for its wreck diving. The most famous site is the SS Antilla, a large Second World War-era freighter resting in shallow, clear water. Its broken structure has become a busy artificial reef, home to angelfish, parrotfish, sergeant majors and colourful sponges.

There are plenty of reef dives to enjoy as well. Coral gardens, rocky outcrops and sandy channels create varied habitats, while gentle currents can carry you along at an easy pace. Depending on the site and conditions, you may also spot barracuda, rays, turtles and moray eels.

Choosing a Dive Trip

Local dive centres offer guided boat dives, shore dives, equipment hire and training courses. Many operators collect guests from popular hotels, which makes arranging a morning or afternoon beneath the waves straightforward. Small groups are a good choice if you prefer a relaxed pace and plenty of personal attention.

March can be a busy time for Caribbean holidays, so it is sensible to reserve popular trips before travelling. Tell the dive centre about your experience level, certification and any particular interests. Instructors and guides can then recommend suitable sites, whether you want calm shallow water or a more adventurous wreck dive.

Making the Most of Your Holiday

Allow time between diving and flying, and follow your dive centre’s safety advice carefully. A good routine is to dive in the morning, enjoy a leisurely lunch and spend the afternoon exploring Aruba’s beaches, desert landscapes or lively restaurants. The island is compact, so it is easy to combine underwater adventures with sightseeing.

With dependable March weather, warm water and a choice of wrecks and reefs, Aruba is an excellent destination for a scuba diving holiday. You can enjoy clear Caribbean seas by day, then return to the shore for a sunset stroll and the welcoming atmosphere that makes Aruba so memorable.
