Why Visit in February?

February is an excellent month for a Curaçao birdwatching holiday. The weather is typically warm, dry and comfortable, with plenty of sunshine and less intense heat than later in the year. Light breezes often make walking pleasant, while the island’s clear skies and open landscapes provide good conditions for spotting birds.

Curaçao lies just off the coast of Venezuela, outside the main hurricane belt. At the island’s western end, Christoffel National Park offers a different experience. Curaçao is home to several appealing bird species, including the bright yellow trupial, the island’s familiar crested oriole and the tiny, energetic bananaquit. The distinctive yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot is one of the most sought-after sightings, although patience and a good ear are useful when looking for it.
