December is a popular month, particularly around Christmas and New Year, so it is sensible to arrange flights, accommodation and car hire well in advance. A small hire car is useful for reaching different beaches and viewpoints, although the roads can be narrow and hilly. Pack light clothing, swimwear, sun protection and something slightly smarter for evenings.
