Start With St Thomas

January is an excellent time to begin a multi-country Caribbean trip in the United States Virgin Islands. Sail To Tortola

Continue your island-hopping holiday to the British Virgin Islands, where Tortola makes a natural next stop. Road Town has a relaxed harbour atmosphere, and the island is known for sheltered bays, winding roads and excellent sailing waters. Hire a car or book a guided excursion to see more of the coastline.

Visit Cane Garden Bay for a sociable beach day, or explore the quieter scenery around Brewer’s Bay. The British Virgin Islands are particularly appealing in January because the trade winds keep the air fresh and make sailing conditions enjoyable. Even if you are not an experienced sailor, a day cruise is an easy way to reach hidden beaches and small cays.
