Why Dive in February
February is an excellent time for scuba diving in Puerto Rico. The island enjoys warm, generally dry weather, while the sea stays comfortably tropical, making it easy to settle into the water and enjoy longer dives. Visibility is often impressive, particularly around the southern and western coasts, where calm conditions can reveal reefs, walls and rocky underwater scenery.
Above the surface, February brings plenty of sunshine without the intense heat that can arrive later in the year. It is a lovely month for combining dive trips with beach time, historic sightseeing and relaxed evenings in San Juan. Whether you are a newly qualified diver or an experienced underwater explorer, Puerto Rico offers a rewarding choice for a winter escape.
