August Diving Conditions
Scuba diving in Puerto Rico in August is a rewarding way to experience the island beyond its beaches. Warm Caribbean water, lively reefs and a choice of sheltered coastal sites make this a good month for both newer divers and experienced underwater explorers.
Sea temperatures are usually wonderfully warm, so a lightweight wetsuit or rash vest is often all you need. Visibility can vary with local weather and rainfall, but many dives still offer clear views of coral, sponges and tropical fish. August is also a useful time to book guided trips, as local operators know which sites are calmest on the day.
